I’m a seasoned fashion entrepreneur with nearly a decade of experience in high-end leather goods. Alongside my family and our eclectic team of innovators, we’re based in the vibrant Greater Toronto Area (GTA) of Ontario, where we’re constantly immersed in the hustle of the industry. As the co-founder and CEO of copit Inc., our mission is to revolutionize the accessibility and sustainability of premium leather goods. What is copit?
Unlike typical “Jack-of-all-trades” platforms, copit (https://copit.ca) is the brainchild of passionate leather enthusiasts. Alongside our seamless consignment service, we’re committed to shaping a brighter future through our innovative repair-to-resale service, known as ReLIFE™. Moreover, we extend our expertise in leather to support emerging brands dedicated to sustainable production practices. Why did you get into this line of work? What’s the best thing about it?
In my college years, I found myself navigating various ventures from tech entrepreneurship to fashion resale and even virtual currency exchange. None of these paths were initially intended, but rather stumbled upon through experience. However, amidst these explorations, my fascination with leather goods remained constant, even during challenging times. To me, leather embodies a kind of beauty akin to ‘wabi-sabi’, contrasting with the fragility and constraints often prevalent in our societies, offering a path towards a more imperfect perfectionism.
The most fulfilling aspect of our work lies in sharing the joy of leather with our clients, illustrating how, through mindful processes and moderate consumption, leather products can outshine many others in terms of sustainability. In my view, the prevailing issue lies in the dwindling lifespan of consumer products, including luxury goods, which are no longer crafted to endure. It’s a regrettable trend that warrants attention.
What does it take to be successful at what you do?

While striving for vertical integration, the pursuit of optimal efficiency has been a continual challenge. However, we thrive on the collaboration and ingenuity of our team, recognizing that no individual operates in isolation. In this competitive landscape, we eschew the reckless haste of “moving fast and breaking things,” opting instead for the steady resilience of a turtle or the enduring strength of a camel.
